Applications

The CCBGAP program is open to any Xavier University undergraduate interested in pursuing graduate study in chemistry or chemical biology.

All prospective applicants to the CCBGAP summer program must…

  1. have junior standing at Xavier University;
  2. hold a grade-point average of at least 3.0;
  3. agree to complete the following XU courses prior to the start of the summer:
    • organic chemistry and
    • upper division inorganic or physical chemistry

The CCBGAP program application consists of….

  1. the web form at this link to be filled out by the applicant
  2. two letters of recommendation (one from a faculty member in Chemistry)
  3. college transcripts (unofficial transcripts are OK). To help track applications, please name this file ccbgap_lastnamefirstinitial_transcript.
  4. a one-page statement of purpose that describes the applicant’s research interests, experience, and post-baccalaureate aspirations. To help track applications, please name this file ccbgap_lastnamefirstinitial_application.

Extension: review of applications will begin on 8 November. For full consideration, all materials should be received by 7 November.

All applications will be reviewed by a joint committee of Xavier University and UC Davis faculty, with finalists potentially interviewed by videoconference. Applicants will be selected based on the strength of their record and fit of research interests to appropriate faculty.

Applicants will be notified of their status by 20 November.
